pleasures are like check points
to get from day to day.
wishes that the body
demands us to obey.
the feelings of our mind
to spare our fragile heart.
security of numbness
from which we'd never part.
empty space between us
and love that's merely thought.
but people do not know
that feelings can't be bought.
the "love" that people seek
is just a common lie.
stability of life
until we finally die.
when i was little.
i used to sit on the swings.
without a care for what would be.
or what might be.
or what couldn't be.
i used to swing high enough,
to peer over the metal bar
and see the ground.
i used to jump from the peak of rhythm,
and hope for a brief second
that i was a bird.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
when i grew up
i went to college to become a vet.
but the reality of pain
was always too much
for me to handle.
instead i majored in art
so that the world could always look
exactly as i wanted it to.
and the light swing of my brush,
brilliant ocean views,
and a simply painted meadow,
has always kept reality at bay.
ZERO DEGREES CELSIUS
the freezing point of water.
the fever of my heart.
numb- preprogrammed setting.
with which i'd never part.
you spare warmth. hope for the best.
we watch the red mass melt.
truth- you waste your time.
you waste your gift.
i never truely felt.
i'd give my heart if not for fear.
cause frozen things do break.
the shattered setting worries me.
so apathy is my take.
IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY by SOUTHEASToftheMOON, literature
Literature
IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY
in the event of an emergency
the manual says submit.
for the will of common man
is worth a common cent.
but in every tale that's ever told
exceptions are the rule.
the men who stand above all else
surpass our common pool.
these blessed few are not as such
they take the beatings too.
though, bearing teeth and grinning wide
they'll always make it through.
the difference is quite false to us
we know not their good deeds.
but on their hearts and through their souls
we satisfy our needs.
by selfish acts and wishful lies
we make their fate as ours.
their open hearts and need to please
have cast eternal bars.
why do i not want this?
when it's right of every man
this life. this simple being.
was never in my plan.
why can't i just end it?
why must you say you care?
my wish and ur false feelings
were always a poor pair.
why does this sleep evade me?
why does my mind still churn?
my questions painfully melting
as the candles slowing burn
with age should come more wisdom. Yes?
with age should come a plan?
the only difference come from time
is growth from boy to man
the questions go unanswered now
as every night before
but soon if all is well
i'll be standing at death's door.
Literature
IF ONLY, IF ONLY
if only, if only
has never done good
what might be
what could be
is never what would
the world does not bend
to the will of its players
the rules
the whole game
are namely for prayers
pray'ers of justice
pray'ers of hope
belief the world's sin
can be cleansed
with mere soap
the lies are exposed
the truth stands out bright
by choice
no one sees it
they'd rather choose smite
please,
stick to your "what if?"s
i don't wish to be rude
for weening your ignorance
would be ever so crude
if only you'd open your mind
and your heart
if only you'd rather be wise
'stead of smart
if only, if only
has never done good
what mi
under what condition
did you think this was okay?
i never said i wanted this.
i never meant to play.
you filled my mind with blackness
i shouldve had a choice.
under what condition
is it fair to silence voice?
your patience does exceed me
but i'm not quite certain why
you push towards things that cannot be
and send my thoughts on high.
you always promised empathy
through a solid place to stand.
but now i find i'm falling
and i'm scared to hit the land.
the time has come and passed
when i thought there was a way.
so i cede to that of truth
admit the ending of my day.
i thought that i could trust you
'cept all trick
Invert my image through the looking glass
Are we ever sure of what we’re looking at?
We can’t ever see present or past
And the future, a future that wont ever last
Minutes tick, seconds turn, and hours fly
As the hands slowly turn, waving goodbye
If the image is the image right side or not
Up or down the image, that image, it’s all that you’ve got
But when it comes time to finally peel away
The image in your eye, forever will it stay
And that something so real
Becomes something you feel
And the something you saw
Is something of awe
And it’s better than anything ever at all
Something so large, kept
I write poetry myself ^^ and it's pretty good but yours is great for someone that is new to poetry. It's very moving and understandable in a way . Would you like to see mine ^^ I would love it if you did
